baqua spa chemicals for hot tubs?

Has anyone had any problems after switching from one chemical to baqua spa chemicals as far as having a brown ring form around the hot tub that was really sticky and had a bad odor to it?

Broken hot tub cover?

I have the type of vinyl hot tub cover that folds in half and is rigid around the sides. The "spine" that keeps the cover flat has broken, so now when it rains, I get a pool of water sitting on top of the cover that is is REALLY heavy, and making it sag even more in the middle. I was thinking a piece of rebar might keep the top flat so that water couldn’t pool on top. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hot tub/spa: the various nozzles and hydro-jets keep coming off during use, where can I learn how to repair?

these? This is a PDC spa that is only 2 1/2 years old. I manage to "reconnect" the pieces only to have them flying about with the next use. When they are reconnected, not all of them have adequate output now. I can’t afford /visit for a different 2 or 3 apart and flying about for the repair person. (No warranty because I bought the house with the hot tub in place.) Help, it’s a 00 hot tub that just doesn’t work well.
ScubaBob, I would have emailed you if you had provided a way to contact you through Yahoo answers. The company that installed the pool is in trouble with the state attorney general (not from me although I have no difficulty in understanding how and why this situation has happened.) The only other authorized repair place is very difficult to deal with since they did not install the pool and I don’t think their repair person is that good. Any place to view these tools online?

I just bought a slightly used hot tub. I’m now trying to figure out how to get it all set up. I do not have a patio or a deck to set it on.
I would also rather not have to pour a concrete pad either. Any suggestions on something I could do myself with out it costing me a arm and a leg?
Also, if you have an outside spa do you have it in a screen room or just out under the stars?

Small in-ground pool or swim spa?

I have a small backyard, but my family really wants a pool. Well, we’re divided: half want a pool (even a small one) and half want a hot tub. In any case, if we get a pool I want an inground one (so one of those inflatable pools is not an option for us–I hate the look and my town is cracking down on fences for them), with a graduated bottom (so little kids can get in safely). But then again, a hot tub is nice too. We can’t afford or make space for both.

So I looked at so-called Swim Spas. I like their sizes, easy installation, and that they can be disassembled if we move. But they all seem to have flat bottoms and be really designed more for exercise. We’re looking for family fun and relaxation.

Any suggestions? Do other options exist? I’d love to hear from others who have installed either small pools or swim spas. Thanks!

I have a Saratoga Spa hot tub that all of a sudden neither of the 2 pumps turn on but the blower motor does?

Both pumps when the buttons are pushed seem to be running ,but I’m not getting any of the jets to work.We live in the North East and its been really cold, but the water temp is somewhere around 100, so I’m pretty sure its not frozen.It’s just very odd that both pumps aren’t working at the same time? I’ve had this hot tub for around 8 yrs.

Viking Hot Tubs/Spa's?

My husband and I bought ours in Sept of 2005 and have had to have a jet fixed because it leaked and then the keypad went out as well. Come to find out, the key pad that was in it wasn’t even the right one!! That was all under the 1 year full warranty. Now it’s leaking AGAIN from a different spot and they’re saying I have to pay a service fee for the guy to come out, then 45% of the repair bill for parts. I’m not happy at all and not sure what to do. This is the 3rd thing that’s gone wrong in 2 1/2 years. This is our first hot tub, is this normal? It’s not even a "bottom of the line" tub, not top notch, but we paid around k and its about a 4-6 person spa. Extra jets, waterfall, lights, etc.
The spa is located inside our home so it’s not exposed to weather. It hasn’t been ran the full time we’ve had it. It was ran Sept through March the first year (2005-2006) then shut down for the summer and opened again from Oct-Nov 2006 and hasn’t been ran since the beginning of 2007.

Could this be a worn heating element?
It is the GFCI breaker that flips. The hot tub has it’s own room and it’s own breaker box. Nothing else runs from it.

OK, I met someone online, on a dating site. They offered to take me on a road trip to the coast of Oregon. I told them that I had no money except . They told me this was no problem because they had just got their taxes back. I was VERY adamant about telling them that I had no cash to contribute. They insisted on taking me. I told them flat out in no uncertain terms that I could not contribute. I am repeating this part because it is important.

Their offer was this: I will come pick you up, take you to dinner, we will sleep, get up, and then go to the coast of Oregon.

I told her that I was down for a road trip but there was no way that I could go because I had no cash. She was very clear that she would pay for the trip. this was solidly established because I have no desire to take advantage of anyone.

She came and got me and we got Thai food. Then we went to her house.

We ended up having sex. I pushed myself physically while sleeping with her to the point of making myself physically ill. We had sex multiple times.

In the morning I woke up ridiculously sick. I told her that I needed to take a bath or I would be sick for the whole day. She explained that she understood this because her father was the same way. She lived in a trailer and the only form of hot bath was an inflatable hot tub that had to be prepared before use.

I told her I was grotesquely ill and that I needed to get into the hot water immediately. She was well aware that if I didn’t get in that I would be essentially crippled for the rest of the day. So, she proceeded to get up and cook breakfast for the next hour and just let me lie there in pain. Asa result I ended up almost physically incapacitated for the rest of the day.

We ate breakfast, and I asked her. "Are we going to go on the road trip?" She said, "We woke up too late." So, we never went, which was the only reason I went to begin with.

So, now I am stranded 50 miles from home, 3 miles from a store. I have no way to get to this store. I needed a cigarette. I asked her to take me to the store so I could get cigarettes. She didn’t. I was stuck. However, her father, who lived next door had just got several cartons in the mail. So, since I could not get out to get my own, I asked for ONE cigarette. ONE, that’s it. She treated me like I was the rudest human on Earth for asking this question.

So, I sat there ALL day stuck at this persons house, repeatedly sleeping with her whenever she wanted, as much as I was physically capable of. I eventually could even have sex with anymore because I couldn’t freaking move.

The evening came. I was hungry. I told her I was hungry. She did not offer me any food, and would not take me to the store. Then, she looked at me and said, "do you want some garlic toast?" I said, "yes"

I told her I was starving. She had cupboards full of food but had not offered me anything but some toast. I finally got up after feeling pushed around and grabbed the first food I could find: a bag of Doritos–which could have bought myself if she would have taken me to the store. I grabbed them and she said, "Aren’t you going to ask?" I said, "So, I don’t have to ask to cum on your face but I have to ask for some chips?" She said, "You can only have a couple." I felt like a prisoner.

Then she came in with the garlic toast. However, she had made a full dinner for herself. She sat and ate Potato soup, drank a "boutique" soda, right in front of me. She sat and ate fucking dinner in front of me, and I hade 3 pieces of burnt garlic toast.

Then, I was finally fed up and asked her to take me home. I gave to her physically almost beyond my capacity, she was pushy and controlling–she handed me a sleeve of movies to pick one and then after I looked through them she said "we are watching this," She refused to allow me to go to the store so I could buy my own food and cigarettes with my last , she ate fucking dinner inf front of me, screwed me on the road trip, and then had the nerve to treat me like I was a mooch.

I did everything I possibly could to take care of myself in this situation and she as well aware when she came and got me that I only had to my name. I just went home and never called her again.

End if story. Nope. Now several days later she is accusing me of taking advantage of her, and criticizing me for not giving her my last , and saying that it was rude to just take 15 Doritos and ONE cigarette.

I don’t want your opinion of my lifestyle but I want someone to read this and tell me how I took advantage of this person. I did EVERYTHING in my power to establish my financial situation and pay for my own requests beyond her offer. She completely refused to allow me to take care of myself and who I finally did stick up for myself I was selfish.

Somebody please stick up for me…
I realize now what my mistakes were. I’m trying to fix the situation by making better choices. The whole thing was just hurtful and sad, and I feel very cheap and stupid for allowing myself to get in this situation.

how should i clean an all wood outdoor hot tub without damaging the wood,but making it safe for people to use?

it looks like some kind of redwood, like a giant wine cask (remember lucy & ethel crushing the grapes on I LOVE LUCY?) it’s hand made possibly from a kit,I noticed a silicone"caulk" type thing between the planks,it’s been sitting for a few seasons gathering leaves and all kinds of bacteria& whatever else, that i need to clean up without affecting the wood. PLEASE HELP! I WANT TO USE MY HOT TUB!!!!
